Poway Symphony Orchestra

John LoPiccolo, Music Director and Conductor

“Best wishes for a Happy, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year!

The Poway Symphony Orchestra is thankful for you continued support and will present again three splendid concerts in 2022.

The next concert will be at 4:00 PM on Sunday, March 20, 2022 and will feature the mighty Symphony No. 8 by Antonin Dvorak as well as the delightful Cello Concerto No.1 by Camille Saint Saëns. The soloist for this performance will be our principal cellist Daniel Grab. The concert will open with the glittering Fanfare from Le Péri by Paul Dukas.

Welcome to the Poway Symphony Orchestra

The Poway Symphony Orchestra is a semi-professional orchestra that performs classical concerts at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts.

The Poway Symphony Orchestra brings symphonic music to the North County Inland area. The concert programs include the music of the great composers, from the classical to the contemporary. Sometimes the orchestra invites nationally renowned guest artists for the performance of major concertos.

Our purpose is to offer audiences the experience of live symphonic concerts for their cultural and educational benefit, and hence to enrich the communities in the area.

The orchestra presents three concerts each season, typically in November, March and May.

The Orchestra Invites Musicians to Join

The Poway Symphony Orchestra is a semi-professional community orchestra providing great opportunities for qualified musicians to perform in concerts at the highest quality. We welcome musicians of all ages and walks of life to enjoy the experience of making music. Our literature ranges from Classical, Romantic to Contemporary music. The orchestra is looking to expand in numbers and we are especially interested in strengthening the orchestra with additional string players in all string sections.

The orchestra has rehearsal on Monday evenings from 7:15 to 9:15 PM. Performances are usually on Sundays at 4:00PM with dress rehearsals on Saturdays at 10:00AM.
