Holiday Celebration with The Romeros

Begin your holiday season with a joyful celebration of music, tradition and the festive spirit!

The Poway Symphony Orchestra welcomes the legendary guitar quartet The Romeros for a spectacular evening that combines the warmth of Spanish traditions with beloved holiday classics.

The concert features the vibrant energy of Emmanuel Chabrier's España, a dazzling orchestral showpiece inspired by the colors and rhythms of Spain. The orchestra also presents selections from Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's timeless Nutcracker Suite, featuring some of the world's most cherished holiday melodies.

The highlight of the evening will be Federico Moreno Torroba's Concierto Ibérico for four guitars and orchestra, performed by the internationally acclaimed Romeros, often hailed as "The Royal Family of the Guitar." Their artistry and virtuosity have captivated audiences around the world for generations.

Jon Kimura Parker performs Grieg's Piano Concerto

Experience an extraordinary evening of passion, drama, and breathtaking artistry as the Poway Symphony Orchestra presents two of the defining works of the Romantic era.

Internationally acclaimed pianist Jon Kimura Parker joins the orchestra for Edvard Grieg's magnificent Piano Concerto in A minor, a work celebrated for its soaring melodies, virtuosic brilliance, and irresistible Nordic charm. From its thunderous opening to its lyrical and triumphant conclusion, Grieg's concerto remains one of the most cherished works in the piano repertoire.

The program also features Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky's powerful Symphony No. 4, a deeply personal and emotionally charged symphony. Written during a period of great turmoil in the composer's life, the symphony explores themes of fate, struggle and ultimate victory through some of the most dramatic and memorable music ever written for orchestra.

A Tribute to 200 Years of Genius

Join the Poway Symphony Orchestra for a special tribute marking the 200th anniversary of the death of one of history's most influential composers, Ludwig van Beethoven.

This all-Beethoven program celebrates the enduring brilliance and genius of a composer whose music continues to captivate audiences two centuries after his passing. Internationally acclaimed violinist Etienne Gara joins the orchestra for Beethoven's monumental Violin Concerto in D Major, a work of extraordinary beauty, lyricism and emotional depth that stands among the greatest concertos ever written.

The concert also features Beethoven's brilliant and rhythmically dynamic Symphony No. 7, along with the dramatic and triumphant Leonore Overture No. 3, one of Beethoven's most powerful orchestral works and a masterpiece of musical storytelling.
